Do the seasons inspire your senses? I am thrilled to my very toes with the changing period right now.
I eagerly await this time of year. We're in the veil between seasons right now in the Pacific Northwest; summer and fall are doing their annual dance before summer bows out and autumn steps forward for her solo. The days are growing shorter, the air is more crisp, the sun turns every thing golden and then sepia-toned. Colors are richer and more saturated, somehow.
I've been moving more towards earthy, rustic tones in my painting lately.
I found this table in a store, sadly neglected and covered under a tablecloth with merchandise pilled on top. I literally gasped when I saw how much it was...I think if she had been a real person, she would have been sorely offended at just how little someone thought she was worth. I just had to rescue her and make her beautiful again!
She is still a work in process. I need to seal her top, and figure out how to take off the second drawer pull (I'm a bit stumped, it's impossible to reach behind her and unscrew it; I might have to get out the bolt cutters).
Enjoy the photos!
I think she looks like an Amber, don't you?
What a wonderful find! It will be even more beautiful when you are finished with it. Yes, she looks like an Amber, all right.
ReplyDeleteWhen you opened the top and turned it 90 degrees around, didn't it reveal the back of the pulls?
